We use adjectives to talk about nouns – a quiet boy – հանգիստ տղա (ինչպիսի՞ տղա).
We use adverbs to talk about verbs – to speak quietly – խոսել հանգիստ (ինչպե՞ս խոսել ).
Ձևի մակբայներ ենք կազմում՝ ածականներին ավելացնելով «ly»:
slow – դանդաղ He is a slow runner. Նա դանդաղ վազող է:
slowly – դանդաղ (որեն) He runs slowly. Նա դանդաղ է վազում:
This is a comfortable armchair. Սա հարմարավետ բազկաթոռ է:
He is sitting comfortably in the armchair. Նա հարմարավետ նստած է բազկաթոռին:

Անկանոն ածականներ և մակբայներ
good – լավ, better than – ավելի լավ քան, the best – ամենալավ
well – լավ, better than, best. Ուշադրություն դարձրեք այն բանի վրա, որ մակբայների գերադրական աստիճանը the հոդ չի ընդունում:
Henry is a good football player. He is a better football player than Michael. John is the best football player in our town.
Henry plays football well. He plays football better than Michael. John plays football best of all.
bad – վատ, worse than – ավելի վատ քան, the worst – ամենավատ
badly – worse than, worst
many (հաշվելի գոյականների հետ) – շատ, more – ավելի շատ քան, the most – մենաշատ
much – (անհաշվելի գոյականների հետ) շատ, – more – ավելի շատ քան, the most – մենաշատ
little – (քիչ անհաշվելի գոյականների հետ) less than – ավելի քիչ քան, the least – ամենաքիչ
few – քիչ (հաշվելի գոյականների համար), fewer -ավելի քիչ, fewest – ամենաքիչ
Որոշ մակբայներ չունեն ly վերջավորությունը:
fast – արագ, արագընթաց, Ferrari is a fast car.

Last night my father was talking about languages. He says he speaks French good/well, but he doesn’t. I’ve heard him speaking French: he tries to speak very quick/quickly, and his pronunciation is terrible/terribly. But I didn’t say that.
I want to speak Italian fluent/fluently. Yesterday I talked to the Italian teacher about my test. She said I got 4 out of 20 – I did the test really bad/badly. I was surprised. I thought the test was easy/easily and I answered all the questions really quick/quickly. The teacher said I would never be good/well at Italian, but I smiled happy/happily at her because she is wrong. I am going to learn Italian and go to live in Rome.
