In June of this year, Nune Aydinyan, an English teacher at the high school, participated in the training course “Using ICT in the English Teaching Process” under the “English Courses for Armenian Teachers and Students” program funded by the US government “PI-H International” Organization.

The training has been really effective. Nune Aydinyan’s article on the same topic was published in Dpir on September 3, after which she presented the new computer programs to her students, who decided to present the final results of this year’s projects with new programs. The 11th graders’ September project was “The USA in a Nutshell“.

There was a division of tasks among the project participants that covered almost all areas of the country: geography, ethnicity, culture, religion, science, technology, and social life. The principle of creating texts was one: no copying. Learners had to read the relevant original information and create their own with a brief paraphrase.

Karine Gomtsyan and Shushan Pashinyan’s presentation was done in two new computer programs. First, they presented brief information about the US coat of arms, flag, geography, ethnicity, religion, and various areas of public life using the Prezi program, after which they asked multiple-choice questions related to the presented material using the QUIZIZZ program. The program creates an interactive atmosphere in the classroom.

Amalya Zakaryan and Araks Kalichyan have created their presentation about US national holidays using the Canva program. The effect of this program is that the viewed slide rolls to one side and quickly disappears, and the next slide appears in the same way.

Tigran Harutyunyan has also used the Canva program to create the material about the National Agency for Aeronautics and Space Research, NASA. Tigran’s sliders do not roll, but just quietly move to one side and disappear. Perhaps this is what the seriousness and strict style of the material demands.

Araks Kalichyan, “Crime and Punishment” and Albert Zakhrabekyan, “The Greatest US Technological Corporations” have created their presentations by using the Microsoft Sway program.

Angelina Hakobyan, “U.S. Cities” and Karine Mikayelyan, “Education in the United States” have created their presentations with the familiar Power Point program, but with an interesting design.

The 17th Annual Autumn Creative Gathering has just begun, and one of the key projects this year is the learner-teacher. I think that Nune Aydinyan with his students can implement a “learner-teacher” project with students and teachers of the High School in the coming days, at the result of which the presentations of the round tables will be created with the above-mentioned new computer programs.
